Nudie Bar

One Eye Doll, a local band here in Austin, just released a new music video for their song Nudie Bar. The shear ridiculous awesomeness of this video struck me as so creative that I just had to share it. Dun dun dun dun! If you dig this sign up for the newsletter or better yet, go see Kimberly next time One Eyed Doll is playing.

Enjoy.

Dancy Thing

Here is a new generic Electronic Rock track that I worked out this weekend. It is not really that good, but it is catchy and I kept it right at three min. Just like all the crap you hear on the radio.
I will update if I ever decide to write some lyrics for it.

Burn

I threw together a cover of burn this weekend. I have not posted any music for a while so I though I would put this up. I have been in the doldrums lately as far as writing music goes so I though I may as well do a quick cover to keep the juices flowing. Let me know if you think I totally ruined Trent's song.

Girl Pants

This one is kind of an inside joke between me and my friends.
But if you ever go downtown and see a guy wearing pants tighter than your girls tight jeans then you will pretty much understand. I can't check out a band downtown without seeing a thousand of these 80's throwback , hipster, sissy boys running around all over the place. I even have a few friends that wear the girl pants. Seriously, I went shopping with a buddy of mine and he was actually browsing in the woman's section. I slipped over and tried to whisper to him that he was looking at chick jeans and he turned to me and said that they fit him better. Can't argue with that kind of logic.

Dead Again

I put together a track for the imaginary zombie movie that I wish I was working on, or maybe a video game. Anybody need someone to work on the soundtrack for their horror/thriller type project. I work for cheap!

Smoke in the Air

Potent fluid, comforting abyss. Subtle movement, so slight you might miss
Soft dilation, lights grow dim, and in my hand three fingers of bourbon.
These eyes tell you lies, stories of your dreams.
Fabricate delusions. Cast down, fleeting.
Make your offer, cast your bid.
Maybe all those drinks will do the trick.

Waltz right over and flash your grin.
I close myself off, can you chisel your way in?
Like smoke in the air, she disappears the same.

When it's done

Here is a quick trip-hop track I whipped up with a Ableton Live on a friends laptop with some samples I have on a external hard drive.

Don't wake me if I am screaming

I have been accepted to paramedic school. I hear that after watching people die in horrible
accidents for many years, paramedics often develop post tramatic stress syndrome.
Given that I already have to warn my lovers not to try to wake me if I rise in the middle
of the night and fight and scream like I am being attacked, I am greatly looking forward
to what kinds of new and strange nightmares I will be having in the future.

Velvet Wasp

I had finished this track and lost a lot of progress when I had a hard drive fail. I still have not gone back and finished the track. Always Back Up!

Tripple Sixes

Deon came over and laid the vocals down in four takes. Everything you are hearing was a first take. It gives you a real sense of satisfaction when you can work with a artist that has their game together.

For a Child

A high fever and soft music
the doctor had sent us home
mom rocked him all night long
at the hospital I played with a wheelchair
they brought me in to say goodbye while
he was still technically alive

I have been to his grave once since then
there is a little teddy bear on the stone

Profound

My perspective is distorted.
What I recognize is most likely illusion.
I turn my gaze inward to what is familiar
but I only see profound distortion.

The Long Fall Down

The Long Fall Down

The creepy ethereal intro was done with some bowed glass samples that I have since lost from a hard drive failure. Later I let a friend of mine, Deon, lay down some rap vocals over the top that fit the murderous vibe of the track very well.

March You Pigs

Here is a really old cover track that I did when I was first learning how to use my compressors and mic pre-amps. Sounds awful, but I still kinda like it.

Get Me A Grammy

I want to watch it all come down.
I love to watch them scramble like a bed of ants soaked in lighter fluid.
The problem is beyond containment.
Like viral meningitis, by the time your neck starts to hurt
your already dead.
We have all been purchasing the bile they pump out...
We have all listened to mediocrity become exalted...
It just takes one mutation to start an epidemic.
Die BMG...Die Sony...Die Universal...Die EMI...Die Warner Brothers.

DIE DIE DIE

Never Listen

For this track I used some samples that I found from Trent Reznor's Doom 3 Project. From what I hear he was involved in the Quake soundtrack and started the Doom 3 soundtrack but never finished it because his plans for the music and mood were to grand and his schedule was to full. Eventually one of the guys that used to play drums for NIN, Chris Vrenna, picked up and finished the project. So he just threw his sounds out for all the internets to consume and I loaded them into Halion and made some kind of twisted industrial drum kit out of them.

There is No You

There is no you (remix)

Some radio station in Houston was having a win NIN tickets remix contest. So I spent a couple of day working on this track. I was going for a more downward spiral type of sound since I guess I miss that era of rock and metal.

Friction Coefficient of an Unwell Mind

What I am looking at suggests late night and early morning low clouds over my head.
With a line of thunderstorms developing over the western region of my
mental health.
Possible flash floods throughout the southern portion of my apartment, and a high
chance of mudslides from the liquor cabinet.
Converging warm and cold fronts may bring about tornadoes and/or frozen rain in cardiac region of
my chest. Also beware of slick roads from freezing precipitation when traveling along the main arteries.

Friction Coefficient Of An Unwell Mind is a bit of a nightmare.
